Denton County Legal Directory
The Denton County Paralegal Association publishes a bi-yearly Denton County Legal Directory. The Directory includes information on all Denton County attorneys, Judiciary, County offices, County municipalities, County law enforcement agencies, and State legislative offices. You may purchase the Directory for $22.00 plus $3.00 shipping. If you would like to purchase a Directory, download the order form and mail it to DCPA.
Cookbook
The Denton County Paralegal Association has published a cookbook entitled “Setting a Precedent for Cooking, a collection of recipes from members of the Denton County legal community”. You may purchase the cookbook for $10.00 plus $3.00 for shipping. If you would like to purchase a cookbook, download the order form and mail it to DCPA.

Paralegal Definition
A paralegal is a person, qualified through various combinations of education, training, or work experience, who is employed or engaged by a lawyer, law office, governmental agency, or other entity in a capacity or function which involves the performance, under the ultimate direction and supervision of a licensed attorney, of specifically delegated substantive legal work, which work, for the most part, requires a sufficient knowledge of legal principles and procedures that, absent such a person, an attorney would be required to perform the task.
DCPA is a member of the Texas Alliance of Paralegal Associations (TAPA)
TAPA is an alliance of Texas paralegal associations, which was formed in 1982 when representatives of local paralegal associations in Texas met to exchange ideas and establish a network for communication and support. The Alliance now includes 24 participating associations which work together to further the profession by monitoring and participating in the paralegal profession, maintaining a statewide communications network among paralegal associations and other members of the legal community, as well as encouraging and enhancing continued education and professional growth of legal assistants in Texas. TAPA meets once a year in different cities throughout Texas and each association gives verbal and written presentations on their association's progress and professional growth. DCPA is currently scheduled to host the TAPA conference in 2015.
